Meet Pastor Michael R. Gordon

Image Rev. Michael R. Gordon was born in Aurora, Illinois, the second of eight children. At the age of seven he was convicted of his lost condition and was led to the Lord Jesus Christ by his mother. While attending a Bible camp as a camper, Pastor Gordon surrendered his life for full-time Christian ministry. He attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna, Minnesota, and is a 1971 graduate of Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Watertown, Wisconsin. Pastor Gordon accepted the call to serve as pastor of First Baptist Church of Hartford in May of 1974, and preached his first service as Pastor on June 12, 1974. Prior to assuming the pastoral position in Hartford, the Gordons served in a variety of ministries at Calvary Baptist Church in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, where he was ordained.

While serving as the camp evangelist at a summer Bible camp, Pastor Gordon met his future wife, Carole. The Gordons have four grown daughters and four grandchildren.

Under the able ministry of Pastor and Mrs. Gordon, First Baptist Church of Hartford has been uniquely blessed by having a number of former members enter various areas of the Christian ministry. Many are serving across the globe as pastors, missionaries, Christian school teachers, youth pastors, and involved in other church related ministries.
